研究目的
To describe the implementation of a versatile system and corresponding method to perform fast post-mortem optical attenuation measurements on irradiated Optical Fibers (OFs) for dosimetry purposes.
研究成果
The proposed system and method are well suited for passive high level dosimetry applications in various radiation environments. The performance achievable with a P-doped SM OF sensor is discussed, along with potential limitations and adaptations for different sensing purposes.
研究不足
The main limitation comes from the dynamic range of the optical interrogator at high spatial resolution. The system's accuracy is affected by splice-to-splice variability, especially for low radiation doses. The method may not be suitable for extremely high RIA values without further testing to exclude the presence of leaky modes.
