To optimize the through transmission laser welding (TTLW) process of two transparent plastic materials, Acrylic and Polycarbonate, by varying laser power, scanning speed, and frequency to form lap joints without filler material, and to study the effect of these parameters on weld quality.

The study successfully optimized the TTLW process for Acrylic and Polycarbonate, achieving maximum breaking load and minimum weld width simultaneously. The developed regression equations accurately predict weld quality characteristics, validated by confirmation tests with minimal error percentages. Significant model terms affecting breaking load and weld width were identified through ANOVA.
