研究目的
To compare the effectiveness of two dental desensitization therapies, 940nm laser diode and potassium nitrate, in patients with dental hypersensitivity (DH) symptoms.
研究成果
940 nm diode laser therapy may be considered as a therapeutic alternative for the management of dentinal hypersensitivity. Immediate effects of diode laser therapy were observed compared to the gradual effect of daily use of potassium nitrate.
研究不足
The study requires a trained operator for the correct use of the laser. More longitudinal studies with greater follow-up are needed to establish a protocol.
1:Experimental Design and Method Selection:
A randomized clinical trial was performed to compare the effectiveness of 940nm laser diode and potassium nitrate in patients with dental hypersensitivity.
2:Sample Selection and Data Sources:
30 patients with gingival recessions Class I and II and symptoms of DH were selected.
3:List of Experimental Equipment and Materials:
Diode laser with a wavelength of 940 nm, desensitizing gel containing
4:5 g of potassium nitrate, glycerin. Experimental Procedures and Operational Workflow:
Patients were randomly assigned into two groups. The first group received laser application, and the second group received inactive laser and potassium nitrate gel. Controls were carried out at 15 minutes, 8 days, 15 days, and 4 weeks.
5:Data Analysis Methods:
Mann Whitney U and t student tests were used for comparison between groups.
