研究目的
To describe a simple and quick one-step method to synthesize covalently linked, stable nanoscale colloidal capsules consisting of gold nanoparticles (AuNP) and thiol-containing crosslinkers for applications such as therapeutic agent encapsulation, photothermal therapy, imaging, and energy storage.
研究成果
A one-step synthesis of covalently crosslinked, nanoscale AuNCs was successfully developed. The properties of the AuNCs can be tuned by employing different sized subunit NPs for assembly, demonstrating the modularity of the synthesis. The AuNCs assembled from 20 nm AuNPs showed potential for photothermal applications due to their pronounced red-shifted λmax in the NIR window.
研究不足
The synthesis and purification process of PTMP-crosslinked AuNCs is restricted by the need for sucrose gradient centrifugation and dialysis, which limits throughput and yield. Additionally, the formation of submicron colloidal capsules is challenging due to the inherent mechanisms of emulsion-based synthesis.
