The study demonstrates that nanoparticles of Bi, Sn, Sb, In, Pb, Co, Ni, Cu, Fe, and Terfenol-D synthesized via LASiS exhibit LSPR and can act as effective SERS substrates, comparable to gold and silver nanoparticles. This opens new avenues for the development of plasmonic sensors based on non-conventional materials.

Nanoparticles were synthesized via Laser Ablation Synthesis in Solution (LASiS) using a Nd:YAG Quantronix Laser.

Nanoparticles of Bi, Sn, Sb, In, Pb, Co, Ni, Cu, Fe, Terfenol-D, Au, and Ag were produced.

UV-Vis spectrometer, DLS equipment, TEM, AFM, SAED, confocal Raman microscope.
4:Experimental Procedures and Operational Workflow:
Nanoparticles were characterized by UV-Vis, DLS, TEM, AFM, and SAED. SERS activity was tested with various organic and biological molecules.
5:Data Analysis Methods:
UV-Vis extinction spectra, size distribution histograms, and Raman/SERS spectra were analyzed.
