To study the performance of phthaloychitosan gel polymer electrolyte (GPE) based sensitized solar cells (SSCs) fabricated with different types of sensitizer.

Among the five sensitizers studied, curcumin dye extracted from turmeric plant resulted in the best performance in SSCs, attributed to the presence of OH group in its molecular structure that facilitates attachment to the TiO2 layer. EIS measurement confirmed good interfacial properties at the photoanode/electrolyte interface.

The study focused on a limited number of sensitizers and used a specific type of GPE. The performance of SSCs could be influenced by the choice of sensitizer and electrolyte, and the study did not explore the optimization of these components.

Preparation of GPE, deposition of TiO2 layers to the photoanode, deposition of natural and synthetic sensitizers to the photoanode, fabrication of SSCs, and performance evaluation through current density–voltage characteristics and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy.
5:Data Analysis Methods:
The performance parameters (Jsc, Voc, FF, PCE) were calculated from the J–V characteristics, and interfacial parameters were obtained from Nyquist plots.
