研究目的
Investigating the thermally induced efficiency roll-off in quantum-dot light-emitting diodes (QLEDs) to develop efficient and ultra-bright QLEDs.
研究成果
The study demonstrates that improving the thermal stability of QDs and effective thermal management in QLEDs can significantly reduce efficiency roll-off and enable ultra-high brightness. The developed QLEDs achieved a record-high brightness of 1.6×106 cd/m2 and an EQE of 16.6%, showcasing the potential for high-brightness applications.
研究不足
The study focuses on the thermal aspects of efficiency roll-off in QLEDs, primarily addressing thermal-induced emission quenching and heat dissipation. Other factors contributing to efficiency roll-off, such as Auger recombination, are minimized but not entirely eliminated.
1:Experimental Design and Method Selection:
The study involved improving the thermal stability of quantum dots (QDs) by replacing conventional oleic acid ligands with 1-dodecanethiol and using substrates with high thermal conductivity to dissipate Joule heat.
2:Sample Selection and Data Sources:
Two kinds of QDs with different ligands (OA or DDT) were prepared and characterized.
3:List of Experimental Equipment and Materials:
QLEDs were fabricated with structures including ITO, PEDOT:PSS, TFB, QDs, ZnMgO NPs, and Al layers.
4:Experimental Procedures and Operational Workflow:
The QLEDs were fabricated using spin-coating and thermal evaporation techniques, and their performance was evaluated under various conditions.
5:Data Analysis Methods:
The performance of QLEDs was analyzed using current density-voltage-luminance (J-V-L) characteristics, EQE measurements, and temperature-dependent PL and TRPL spectra.
