研究目的
To analyze the glomerular proteomics of IgA nephropathy (IgAN) and membranous nephropathy (MN) by LMD and LC-MS/MS and compare the findings with those for normal glomeruli obtained at biopsies from kidney transplant donors, investigating the significance of the detected molecules with regard to the diagnosis and pathogenesis of glomerular diseases.
研究成果
LMD and LC-MS/MS can identify pathognomonic proteins for the diagnosis of IgAN and MN and detect several factors possibly involved in their pathogenesis. The technique shows potential for diagnostic and pathophysiological understanding of human glomerular diseases.
研究不足
The study is exploratory with a small number of patients, limiting the evaluation of the significance of detected proteins. The sensitivity of the mass spectrometry apparatus may limit protein detection. No novel methodology or new protein confirmed by other methods was reported.
