研究目的
Investigating the method for optical simulation of external quantum efficiency (EQE) spectra of solar cells based on spectroscopy.
研究成果
The study established a spectroscopy-based method to obtain the actual optical constants of the layers in a solar cell device for the optical simulation of EQE. The calculation results showed remarkable agreements with the experimental data, both in flat and textured HIT applications. Different contributions of each layer on the overall current loss (or gain) were analyzed, and promising techniques related to the considerations in different wavelength ranges were applied to the calculation method.
研究不足
The method requires accurate measurement of transmittance and reflectance spectra and modification of optical constants, which may be complex for some materials. The thickness of c-Si used for calculation had to be decreased to a range that can be calculated by the computer, which may affect the accuracy of the simulation.
1:Experimental Design and Method Selection:
The study proposed a method for optical simulation of EQE spectra based on tested transmittance and reflectance spectra. The optical constants were modified from the measured reflectance and transmittance spectra to obtain accurate refractive index and extinction coefficient values.
2:Sample Selection and Data Sources:
The study used flat and textured heterojunctions with intrinsic layers (HIT) solar cells. The optical constants of each layer were obtained from public resources and modified based on measured transmittance and reflectance spectra.
3:List of Experimental Equipment and Materials:
UV–Vis–NIR system for measuring transmittance and reflectance spectra, step profiler for measuring film thickness, and computational tools for modifying optical constants and simulating EQE spectra.
4:Experimental Procedures and Operational Workflow:
The optical constants were modified to match the measured transmittance and reflectance spectra. The modified constants were then used to simulate the EQE spectra of the device.
5:Data Analysis Methods:
The simulated EQE spectra were compared with experimental data to validate the method. The optical losses in different devices were analyzed based on the simulation results.
