研究目的
To assess the effects of the spatial distribution of the solar radiation inside photovoltaic greenhouses on yield and quality of leaf vegetable crops, specifically lettuce, grown in two cycles (autumn and winter-spring).
研究成果
In double span photovoltaic greenhouses with 50% roof coverage, the plant position affects yield and nitrate content of lettuce. Throughout the autumn and early spring season greenhouse areas more penalized are situated in the N-span, under the ridge and the centre of the PV roof. The high variability in the spatial radiation distribution lead to a heterogeneous production, hard to standardize in terms of quality and nutritional profile.
研究不足
The study was conducted without any equipment for the active climate control, which might affect the results. The shading caused by PV panels on the growing surface seriously limits the productivity and affects crop development.
1:Experimental Design and Method Selection:
The study was conducted in a commercial East-West oriented PV greenhouse with an area of 960 m2 and two spans, North and South oriented. The influence of span orientation, plant position (under plastic or PV roof) and cultivar were analysed as experimental treatments in a split-split plot design with two replications.
2:Sample Selection and Data Sources:
Two cropping cycles of lettuce in soilless culture were carried out, from October 23 to December 4, 2014 (autumn season) and from March 3 to April 17, 2015 (early spring season). Seedlings of lettuce at the 4-5 leaf stage were transplanted out in bags, filled with 22 L of coconut fibre substrate.
3:List of Experimental Equipment and Materials:
Silicon Pyranometer (S-LIB-M003 Hobo Onset) connected to data-loggers, at about 1.0 m height. Global radiation was measured every 15 min throughout the two growing cycles.
4:0 m height. Global radiation was measured every 15 min throughout the two growing cycles.
Experimental Procedures and Operational Workflow:
4. Experimental Procedures and Operational Workflow: Irrigation was provided by drip lines and nutrient solution was applied from the transplanting phase to the end of the cycle. The cropping cycles were carried out without any equipment for the active climate control.
5:Data Analysis Methods:
Analysis of variance (ANOVA) of the data collected and LSD procedure for means comparison was carried out using Genstat version 17.1 (VSN International Ltd.).
