To explore the feasibility of laser-assisted machining (LAM) in the field of metal matrix composites (MMCs) and to improve the processing characteristics of SiCp/Al materials.
研究成果
LAM technology can reduce tool wear, reduce surface roughness, and improve surface morphology to obtain better processing performance than traditional cutting technology. The study paves the way for the follow-up research on the simulation analysis of laser-assisted micro-cutting process.

The study is preliminary and focuses on the feasibility of LAM for SiCp/Al materials. Further research is needed to optimize processing parameters and explore the distribution of residual stress on the surface and the change of the surface metallographic structure of the workpiece after processing.
