To propose a real-time control strategy that the PV power fluctuations can be smoothed by EVs and ESS, in which a convex optimization model is established to solve the problem.

The cooperative dispatching of aggregate EV and ESS ensures sufficient dispatching capacity. The smoothing error of the convex optimization model is controllable and determined by the parameters of the convex optimization model. The proposed strategy is able to reduce the total installed capacity of ESS because of cooperative dispatching. The strategy can also restrain the over-charge and over-discharge of ESS to a certain extent, which is beneficial to prolong the ESS serve life.

The study acknowledges the uncertainties of EV parking and charging demand, which may affect the dispatchable capacity provided by EV. The strategy requires the installation of energy storage devices at the distribution network.
