The study concludes that PV panel performance guarantee provided by manufacturers may not be suitable for all installation sites. It allows for a more assertive planning and prediction for investment returns by verifying in detail the degradation and performance that the PV panel will develop during its operating period. Even in hot climates with high degradation rates, PV generation may remain higher along the guarantee period than in locations with lower degradation rates.

The study focuses on fixed/static structures mounted on top of a roof, and the simulations are based on averaged input values for one day. The DeR values obtained may vary in practice due to unforeseen environmental factors.
