研究目的
Investigating the development and characterization of an optical fiber based pressure sensor using a Fiber Bragg Grating (FBG) and a glass fiber reinforced polymer membrane for aerodynamic applications.
研究成果
The paper presents a GFRP FBG pressure sensor based on the elastic plate theory and FE analysis. The sensor design is a circular GFRP clamped membrane with an FBG sensor co-cured on the surface. The experimental results from the sensor reached 56.7 pm/kPa with resolution of 21 Pa over a 0 to 35 kPa range. Further work will explore the temperature dependence of the sensor and the importance of the optical fiber position.
研究不足
The elastic plate theory equations must be used with additional analysis if the sensor is expected to have a nonlinear behavior. The strain experienced by the fiber must also be analyzed with adequate tools as the results show that the membrane and fiber exhibit different amounts of strain.
