研究目的
To improve the economic viability of the conventional solar chimney system by integrating a photovoltaic (PV) system and a water pool for cooling PV panels and generating freshwater, thereby increasing the system's total electricity production and utilization factor.
研究成果
The proposed hybrid solar chimney/photovoltaic thermal system significantly improves the economic viability and efficiency of the conventional solar chimney system. The integration of PV panels and a water pool increases the system's utilization factor from 0.51% to 4.37%, and the system produces 45.35% more electricity annually than a standalone PV system. The cost of freshwater produced is 46.3% cheaper than other similar systems, and the economic indices show improvement over the conventional solar chimney.
研究不足
The study assumes steady-state conditions and negligible heat capacities for collector roof and glass cover. The level of water in the pool is constant, and all condensed water is collected as water distillate. The analysis does not account for friction or leakage.
