研究目的
To develop an inverse method for estimating the temperature-dependent yield strength and modulus of elasticity of materials during a laser bending process using the bend angle of the laser scanned workpiece.
研究成果
The proposed inverse method provides a quick and inexpensive online estimate of temperature-dependent yield strength and modulus of elasticity for laser bending processes. Validation through FEM simulations and shop floor experiments shows good agreement, with errors mostly below 10%. Accuracy can be improved by increasing the number of piecewise linear segments and the accuracy of the FEM model.
研究不足
The method requires accurate measurement of bend angles and assumes that the material's thermal properties are known. The accuracy of inverse estimation can be affected by the number of piecewise linear segments used to approximate the temperature-dependent curves of yield strength and modulus of elasticity.
