The crystalline quality of Nd:GMB grown in NaF flux is affected by corrosion and volatilization, limiting its optical quality. The fluorescence quantum efficiency is relatively low due to multi-phonon non-radiative relaxation processes.
1：Experimental Design and Method Selection:
The Nd:GMB crystal was grown using the top-seeded solution growth (TSSG) method with two different fluxes, NaF and K2Mo3O10–B2O3, to compare crystalline quality.
2：Sample Selection and Data Sources:
Starting materials included Nd2O3, Gd2O3, MgO, H3BO3, MoO3, K2CO3, and NaF, weighed according to specific chemical equations.
3：List of Experimental Equipment and Materials:
A Pt crucible, resistive furnace, programmable temperature controller, nickel-chrome heating wires, and Pt-Rh/Pt thermocouple were used for crystal growth.
4：Experimental Procedures and Operational Workflow:
The melt was heated to 1050 °C, held for 48 h, then cooled to 800 °C with a cooling rate of 25 °C/day. High-quality Nd:GMB was selected for further growth.
5：Data Analysis Methods:
Spectroscopic parameters were calculated based on Judd–Ofelt theory, and thermal properties were measured using a Laser Flash Apparatus.
