The Co-CoOX/Co-N-C possesses enhanced ORR performance in terms of positive onset-potential and half wave potential, high stability, as well as the accelerated reaction kinetics. The uniformly dispersed cobalt exists in the form of Co0, cobalt oxide and Co-N-C accelerate the catalytic activity.
1:Experimental Design and Method Selection:
The coordination of NH2-carbon quantum dots (NCQDs) with Co2+ on carbon black was achieved via one-pot and low-cost hydrothermal treatment. Citric acid (CA) and urea (UA) were used as carbon and nitrogen sources for NCQDs.
2:Sample Selection and Data Sources:
The mixture was sonicated for 20 minutes in 50 mL DI water to form a homogeneous dispersion, then transferred into a Teflon-lined autoclave chamber and heated to 180 oC for 8 h.

4:Experimental Procedures and Operational Workflow:
The obtained samples were centrifuged at 8000 rpm for 10 min to remove excess reactants, then dried in freeze dryer at -40 oC overnight.
5:Data Analysis Methods:
The crystalline nature was investigated by XRD, morphology and size by TEM and HRTEM, and surface functional properties by XPS.
