研究目的
Synthesis of folic acid conjugated photoluminescent carbon quantum dots with ultrahigh quantum yield for targeted cancer cell fluorescence imaging.
研究成果
High quantum yield folic acid functionalized carbon quantum dots (FA-CQDs) were synthesized through a simple one-step method. The FA-CQDs were evaluated for cell viability and effectively used for targeting and imaging of cervical cancer and breast adenocarcinoma cells. The conjugation with folic acid molecules increases the selective internalization of FA-CQDs into cancer cells in comparison to normal cells, due to over-expression of folate receptors.
研究不足
The study focuses on the synthesis and application of FA-CQDs for targeted cancer cell imaging, but does not explore the long-term effects or potential side effects of these nanoparticles in vivo.
