研究目的
Investigating the design of plasmonic waveguides for nanolasing and four-wave mixing (FWM) applications, focusing on how the waveguide design needs to be guided by the ultimate application.
研究成果
The study concludes that the design of plasmonic waveguides should be guided by their ultimate application, with hybrid plasmonic waveguides being best suited for FWM applications and metallic wedges preferred in nanolasers. High-index buffer layers in plasmonic nanolasers outperform traditional low-index buffers. The findings are expected to advance the design and understanding of plasmonic waveguides in nanolasers and nanoscale DFWM devices.
研究不足
The study is based on computational simulations and theoretical models, which may not fully capture all practical challenges in fabricating and implementing these waveguides. Additionally, the study focuses on 2D geometries, and edge effects introduced by additional dimensions may influence the results.
