研究目的
To evaluate the efficacy of transurethral thulium laser en bloc resection of the bladder tumor (TmLRBT) in patients with non-muscle invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC) and to investigate whether a second resection can be avoided.
研究成果
TmLRBT can serve as a feasible and efficient option for the treatment of NMIBC, potentially decreasing the number of second TURs. No significant differences were found in short-term tumor recurrence and progression between patients who underwent second TUR and those who did not.
研究不足
The study was not a multi-center, prospective, randomized trial. Surgical procedures were changed, potentially introducing bias. Long-term follow-up information needs improvement.
1:Experimental Design and Method Selection:
A retrospective study was conducted on 251 newly diagnosed patients with NMIBC who underwent TmLRBT. Patients were divided into two groups based on whether they received a second TUR or only cystoscopy at 3 months post-initial resection.
2:Sample Selection and Data Sources:
Patients were selected based on imaging examinations showing no bladder muscle involvement, normal functions of main visceral organs, and the need for a second TUR according to guidelines.
3:List of Experimental Equipment and Materials:
The 2-μm thulium laser system (LISA Laser Products OHG) was used for TmLRBT.
4:Experimental Procedures and Operational Workflow:
TmLRBT was performed under continuous epidural anesthesia, with the laser power set at 30 W. The procedure involved marking the tumor edge, making a fan-shaped incision, and blunt dissection to achieve en bloc resection.
5:Data Analysis Methods:
Statistical analysis was performed using the JMP 10.0.0 software, with data compared between groups using the t test and χ2 test.
