研究目的
Investigating the origin of singlet and triplet exciton-induced degradation of host materials with C(sp2)?N(sp3) bonds around nitrogen (carbazoles, acridines etc), connecting donor and acceptor units, and proposing controlling factors for exciton-induced degradation.
研究成果
The study concludes that molecules with C(sp2)?N(sp3) bonds have a natural tendency to fragment at the C-N bond through S1/S0 conical intersection. The degradation is controlled by ?G* S1-TS and ?ES1-T1. Polycyclic aromatic systems as acceptor units are recommended for PhOLEDs, and fused ring systems in the donor unit are recommended for TADF-based devices to avoid degradation.
研究不足
The study is limited to computational modeling and does not include experimental validation. The complexity of real OLED devices may introduce additional factors not considered in the models.
