The proposed direct double-frequency ripple current control method effectively eliminates the fuel cell double-frequency ripple with relatively small film capacitor, achieving a dc-bus capacitance reduction of up to 94.3% compared with the traditional method. The system efficiency with the proposed method is very close to the one with the traditional method, with a peak efficiency difference of only 0.4%.

The study focuses on a specific type of fuel cell converter and may not be directly applicable to other systems without modification. The experimental validation is limited to a 3.5-kW system, and scalability to higher power systems may require further investigation.
