研究目的
To quantitatively compare the results of boundary condition and volumetric approaches for simulating photonic devices comprising graphene layers, and to find the application limits of the volumetric method.
研究成果
The study found that all three simulation methods (boundary condition, volumetric, and perturbation) provide comparable results under proper conditions. The volumetric approach should use a layer thickness not exceeding 1 nm for accurate results. The perturbation method, despite its simplicity, offers results fully comparable with the other methods and is computationally less demanding.
研究不足
The study is limited to simulations and does not include experimental validation. The volumetric approach requires very fine discretization in the region of graphene, which can be computationally demanding.
