研究目的
To characterize the monolithic GAGG:Ce scintillation crystal for nuclear imaging purposes, focusing on its coupling with both a single channel PMT and a SiPM array to evaluate its performance in terms of detection efficiency, energy resolution, and spatial resolution.
研究成果
The monolithic GAGG:Ce crystal demonstrated excellent performance when coupled with both PMT and SiPM array, showing high detection efficiency and energy resolution. The SiPM array provided better energy resolution than the single channel PMT at higher energies, along with good imaging capabilities. These findings suggest the potential for developing high-efficiency and high-resolution handheld gamma cameras using monolithic GAGG:Ce crystals.
研究不足
The study focused on a specific thickness of the GAGG:Ce crystal (4 mm), which may not be optimal for all nuclear medicine applications, particularly PET where higher thickness is needed for good efficiency. Future studies could explore different crystal thicknesses and configurations.
