研究目的
Investigating the leaching kinetics of yttrium and europium oxides from waste phosphor powder in hydrochloric acid.
研究成果
The kinetics of leaching of yttrium and europium best fit the logarithmic equation of the empirical model. The activation energies for dissolution were found to be 77.49 kJ/mol for yttrium and 72.75 kJ/mol for europium in the temperature range from 298 K to 343 K.
研究不足
Data should have been taken between 0 and 7.5 min to effectively analyze the reaction kinetics. Kinetic data after 7.5 min measured the thermodynamic effect since the extent of reaction did not change much with time.
1:Experimental Design and Method Selection:
The study involved characterizing the phosphor powder and investigating the leaching kinetics of yttrium and europium in hydrochloric acid under optimized conditions.
2:Sample Selection and Data Sources:
Waste phosphor powder from fluorescent lamps was used, sieved to 75 μm to remove coarse glass particles.
3:List of Experimental Equipment and Materials:
Included inductively coupled plasma-optical emission spectrometer (ICP-OES), X-ray fluorescence spectrometer (XRF), Microtrak particle analyzer, X-ray powder diffraction analysis (XRPD), and scanning electron microscope analysis with energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (SEM–EDX).
4:Experimental Procedures and Operational Workflow:
The sieved phosphor powder was added to a heated hydrochloric acid solution, stirred, filtered, and the leachate analyzed for REEs.
5:Data Analysis Methods:
The kinetic data were analyzed using shrinking spherical particle, shrinking core, and empirical models to determine the leaching mechanism.
