研究目的
To present the performance of the upGREAT heterodyne array receivers on the SOFIA telescope after several years of operations.
研究成果
The upGREAT heterodyne array receivers have been successfully operated on the SOFIA telescope, providing high resolution spectroscopy at far-infrared wavelengths. The dual-array configuration has been added to SOFIA’s instrument suite, enabling efficient observations of large-scale mapping projects. Future improvements include expanding the frequency coverage and enhancing the local oscillator system.
研究不足
The main current limitation for the upGREAT/LFA is the local oscillator system, which is narrow in frequency range and quite fragile. For the upGREAT/HFA array, populating its second polarization with additional pixels is currently on hold due to lack of funding.
