研究目的
To explore the prospect of improved piezoelectric properties of lead barium niobate ceramics with augment of Samarium concentration.
研究成果
The pure and Sm3+ doped lead barium niobate ceramic materials are single phase with rhombohedral structure. The mechanical quality factor Qm and d33 increases indicating a highly polarisable lead ion contributing to high curie temperature dielectric constant. The PBSN-2 reports the highest density of 5.95 gm/cm3 when compared to PBN-1 ceramics.
研究不足
The study focuses on the effect of Sm3+ doping on PBN ceramics, with limitations in exploring other dopants or varying barium concentration.
1:Experimental Design and Method Selection:
The ceramic samples were prepared by solid state reaction method using high purity chemicals and heating at high temperatures.
2:Sample Selection and Data Sources:
Raw materials of Analytical Reagent Grade (AR) chemicals such as PbO, BaCO3, Nb2O5 and Sm2O3 were used.
3:List of Experimental Equipment and Materials:
Philips X-ray diffractometer PW-1710, JOEL model JSM 840A or Philips model 520M SEM, Hewlett Packard LF impedance analyzer model 4192A.
4:2A. Experimental Procedures and Operational Workflow:
4. Experimental Procedures and Operational Workflow: The compositions were wet-mixed, calcined, pressed into discs, and sintered.
5:Data Analysis Methods:
X-ray diffraction for phase genesis, SEM for microstructure, dielectric studies for permittivity, and piezoelectric measurements.
