研究目的
Investigating the improvement of self-cleaning properties of glass surfaces through sol-gel coating using colloidal silica and assessing the optical transmittance and hydrophobic characteristics of the resulting coating.
研究成果
Sol-gel processing of glass surfaces results in hydrophobic characteristics and improves self-cleaning properties. Silicon oil impregnation improves optical transmittance but reduces water droplet contact angle. Outdoor testing revealed that dust particles immerse into the oil film, reducing optical transmittance over time.
研究不足
The study focuses on the improvement of self-cleaning properties and optical transmittance of glass surfaces through sol-gel coating and silicon oil impregnation. The influence of sol-gel thickness on optical transmittance is left for future study.
1:Experimental Design and Method Selection:
Sol-gel coating using colloidal silica on glass surfaces was carried out to improve self-cleaning properties. The optical transmittance and hydrophobic characteristics were analyzed. Silicon oil impregnation was introduced to improve optical transmittance.
2:Sample Selection and Data Sources:
Glass samples with dimensions of 30 mm × 30 mm × 2 mm were used. Colloidal silica PL-7 (75 nm particle diameter size, 23% silica weight content) was obtained from FUSO chemical, Japan.
3:List of Experimental Equipment and Materials:
Scanning electron microscope (SEM, A JEOL 6460), atomic force microscope (AFM/SPM), linear micro-scratch tester (MCTX-S/N: 01-04300), UV spectrometer (Jenway - 67 Series spectrophotometer), ellipsometer (M-2000 J.A. Woolam Co.).
4:Experimental Procedures and Operational Workflow:
Glass samples were cleaned and coated with sol-gel. The coated samples were dried and sintered. Silicon oil was used to impregnate the coated surfaces. Outdoor testing was conducted to assess the optical transmittance and dust settlement.
5:Data Analysis Methods:
Optical transmittance was measured using UV–vis spectroscopy. Surface morphology was examined using SEM and AFM. Water droplet contact angles were measured to assess hydrophobicity.
