研究目的
Investigating the formation and characteristics of bound states in the continuum (BICs) in low-contrast dielectric gratings.
研究成果
The research demonstrates that BICs in low-contrast dielectric gratings originate from reduced guided modes on an effective dielectric slab. The positions of BICs can be accurately predicted using two-wave dispersion relationships for isolated resonances, while the behavior near avoided crossings is well-described by a generic formalism with a single fitting parameter. This work contributes to the understanding of light localization in dielectric structures and may aid in the design of optical devices utilizing BICs.
研究不足
The study is limited to low-contrast dielectric gratings and focuses on TM modes with specific propagation conditions. The analysis may not fully capture the complexity of higher-order modes or different polarization states.
