1:Experimental Design and Method Selection
The complex was synthesized by reacting zinc sulfate, 2,6-pyridinedicarboxylic acid, and 1,10-phenanthroline in a mixed solvent of C2H5OH/H2O. The resulting solution was filtered and kept at room temperature for crystallization.

Colorless block crystals suitable for X-ray diffraction were obtained. Elemental analysis, IR, UV-visible, TG, and X-ray single-crystal diffraction were used for characterization.

4:Experimental Procedures and Operational Workflow
The synthesis involved dissolving the ligands and NaOH in a mixed solvent, adding ZnSO4·7H2O, stirring, filtering, and allowing the filtrate to crystallize. Characterization techniques were applied to the obtained crystals.
5:Data Analysis Methods
The structure was solved by direct methods using SHELXS-97 program and refined with SHELXL-97 by full-matrix least-squares techniques on F2. Fluorescence spectra were analyzed for emission properties.
