Investigating the non-linear behavior of two types of negative impedance converters (voltage-conversion type and current-conversion type) and their potential applications in self-oscillating and self-mixing metasurfaces as well as in power-tunable metamaterials/metasurfaces.

The voltage-conversion and the current-conversion negative impedance converters have fundamentally different properties in non-linear regime, which is consistent with published experiential studies. These effects could lead to new applications in power-tunable self-mixing non-Foster metamaterial/metasurface devices.
