1:Experimental Design and Method Selection:
ZnTe single crystals were grown by the traveling solvent melting zone (TSMZ) method. The growth parameters such as the ratio of ZnTe: Te, growth speed, rotation speed, and the height of solvent zone were designed.
2:Sample Selection and Data Sources:
High pure Zn (7N) and Te (7N) in equimolar ratio were used for the synthesis of ZnTe polycrystalline powder.

Quartz ampoule, self-built tube furnace, vertical Bridgman furnace, X-ray powder diffraction, IR transmission microscopy (IRTM) system, Agilent 4155C I-V measurement, UV-Vis-NIR spectrophotometer, Fourier transform infrared spectrometer, Raman spectrum, THz time-domain spectroscopy (THz-TDS) system.
4:Experimental Procedures and Operational Workflow:
The synthesis of ZnTe polycrystalline powder, crystal growth by TSMZ method, and characterization of the optical and electrical properties of as-grown ZnTe crystals.

The optical and electrical properties were analyzed using various spectroscopic and measurement techniques.
