研究目的
To study the ortho-benzyne self-reactions in a hot micro-reactor and identify the high-temperature products by IR/UV spectroscopy and by photoion mass-selected threshold photoelectron spectroscopy (ms-TPES) in a free jet, highlighting its role in the formation of carcinogenic and environmentally harmful polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH).
研究成果
The study confirms that ortho-benzyne self-reactions efficiently form PAHs with three or four rings at high temperatures, supporting the importance of the biradical addition pathway to PAH molecules. The combination of IR/UV ion dip spectroscopy and photoion mass-selective threshold photoelectron spectroscopy provides a comprehensive understanding of the reaction products.
研究不足
The study is limited by the technical constraints of the pyrolysis micro-reactor and the identification methods, which may not capture all reaction products or intermediates. The high-temperature conditions may also lead to secondary reactions that complicate the analysis.
