The 1-D mixed phase TiO2 NRs synthesized via ionothermal method showed superior photocatalytic H2 generation activity compared to P-25, attributed to the synergetic effect and unique optical properties of the anatase-rutile mixed-phase system. The 1-D structure facilitates effective charge carrier transfer, enhancing photocatalytic efficiency.

Facile ionothermal method was employed to synthesize 1-D mixed phase TiO2 NRs using ionic liquid as the reaction medium.

Titanium tetrachloride and 1-(2-methoxyethyl)-3-methylimidazolium methanesulfonate (MOEMIMS) IL were used as precursors.

4:Experimental Procedures and Operational Workflow:
TiO2 NRs were synthesized by heating a mixture of TiCl4 and MOEMIMS IL at 140°C for 24h, followed by washing and calcination.
5:Data Analysis Methods:
XRD, UV-Vis DRS, FTIR, Raman spectroscopy, TG-DTA, SEM, TEM were used for characterization.
