研究目的
To address the key challenges in disaggregated optical networks through optical performance monitoring, focusing on non-intrusive monitoring of different modulation formats and the use of high resolution spectral analysis.
研究成果
Optical performance monitoring is an enabler for disaggregated optical networks. High resolution spectrum analysis, particularly Brillouin scattering spectrometry, offers high performance in terms of resolution bandwidth, dynamic range, and spectrum scanning speed. The monitoring probes enable suitable configuration of network resources, including transponder parameters, without the need for signal demodulation.
研究不足
The existing optical performance monitoring techniques are either valid for specific transmission technologies or exhibit a limited range of functions for extracting the figures of merit. The challenge is to advance in optical performance monitoring techniques to create a common subsystem agnostic to optical signal waveforms.
