The modified solid-state-reaction method proved to be effective for preparing high-quality Sm-doped BiFeO3 ceramics. Sm doping improved the dielectric, ferroelectric, and magnetic properties of the ceramics, with the 5 mol %-doped sample showing the highest remnant polarization and the 8 mol %-doped sample showing the largest remnant magnetization.
