研究目的
To investigate the latest technological developments in Internet of Things, smart LED lamps and control systems and application areas in residential lighting with regard to new communication protocols and standards, and to investigate energy saving opportunities by smart LED lamps in comparison to incandescent lamps, CFLs and LEDs.
研究成果
Smart LED lamps offer savings of up to 91% compared to incandescent lamps, 71% compared to CFLs and 54% compared to LED lamps with dimming and remote control opportunities. For other cases, it can be said that smart LED lamps can only offer comfort more than energy saving. If a smart LED lamp is a multi-sensor lamp, they will become devices that can provide additional benefits to the residents in order to supply various types of useful data and also offer some security solutions.
研究不足
The main problem with energy consumption of smart LED lamps is that they consume a constant amount of energy while they are turned off. Due to this fact, the efficacy factors of smart LED lamps are lower than standard LED lamps and the total energy consumption can be even higher than CFLs depending on the usage times.
