To present a unified no-reference quality evaluator for singly and multiply distorted stereoscopic images (SDSIs and MDSIs) by learning monocular and binocular local visual primitives (MB-LVPs) to characterize the local receptive field properties of the visual cortex in response to SDSIs and MDSIs.

The proposed method achieves better consistency with subjective perception by learning MB-LVPs that characterize the underlying MRF and BRF properties of the visual cortex in response to stereopairs with different distortion modalities. It demonstrates superior performance on both SDSI and MDSI benchmark databases.

The method's performance may be affected by the accuracy of disparity maps, especially in cases of severe distortion. Additionally, the generalization capability to other unknown distortion types remains a challenge.
