研究目的
To design and investigate a microstrip slot antenna loaded with circular SRR for wideband characteristics at both the resonating frequencies with better radiation pattern and gain, suitable for lower range of WLAN and higher range of Wi-MAX.
研究成果
The proposed dual-band slot antenna loaded with metamaterial (SRR) resonates at two bands (1.92-2.3 GHz and 3.65-3.76 GHz) with satisfactory gain and radiation pattern, making it suitable for GSM, CDMA, 3G mobile services, and for lower range of WLAN and higher range of Wi-MAX.
研究不足
The study focuses on the design and simulation of the antenna, and practical implementation and testing in real-world scenarios are not covered.
1:Experimental Design and Method Selection:
The antenna design involves a microstrip fed slot antenna with and without loading of SRR on a Flame Retardant 4 (FR-4) substrate. The design and optimization are carried out using CST Microwave Studio.
2:Sample Selection and Data Sources:
The slot loop is created at copper ground plane, acting as a main radiating element, excited by the 50 ? microstrip line.
3:List of Experimental Equipment and Materials:
FR-4 substrate with dielectric constant of
4:3 and loss tangent of 025, microstrip line, and circular Split Ring Resonator. Experimental Procedures and Operational Workflow:
The SRR is loaded at one arm of the slot loop, and the dimensions are chosen to resonate at specific frequencies.
5:Data Analysis Methods:
Nicolson-Ross-Weir (NRW) approach is used to verify the Double Negative properties of the structure.
