研究目的
To present an integrated fiber and visible light communication (VLC) system with both single and multimode fibers, analyze the dispersion, and compensate chromatic dispersion using ideal dispersion compensation Fiber Bragg Grating (FBG).
研究成果
The integration of single mode fiber and VLC link for a VLC link length of 80 cm and fiber length of 30 km, and multimode fiber and VLC link for a VLC link length of 60 cm and fiber length of 150 m was established. Gray coded sequence improves BER performance compared to binary input sequence. 16 QAM has better BER performance than 64 QAM. Dispersion compensation is better in single mode fiber–VLC link compared to multimode fiber–VLC link.

The modal dispersion in MMFC–VLC link cannot be compensated using FBG, which is a limitation for multimode fiber systems.
