The pH value significantly influences the morphology, grain size, surface area, and V?O bond length of BiVO4. The coralloid particles synthesized at pH 7 exhibited preferable photodegradation efficiency towards RhB under visual light irradiation, attributed to the suppression of charge recombination and improved visible light absorption resulting from synergistic effect of high exposed {010} grain facets, increased level of overlapping between Bi 6s and O 2p orbitals, shortened charge transfer path and special floating characteristics.

The practical solar light conversion efficiency of BiVO4 is limited by its inherent drawbacks like fast charge recombination and poor electron transport.
