Investigating the synthesis of carbon dots (CDs) from China grass carp scales (CGCS) for the detection of Hg(II) ions.

The CGCS-CDs demonstrated high sensitivity and selectivity for Hg(II) ions detection, with a low detection limit and good linear relationship in the concentration range of 0.014–30 μmol/L. The CDs were also found to be low toxicity, making them suitable for environmental and biological applications.
研究不足
The study focuses on the detection of Hg(II) ions and may not be applicable to other heavy metals without modification. The sensitivity and selectivity under extreme environmental conditions were not extensively studied.
1:Experimental Design and Method Selection:
A one-step microwave hydrothermal method was used to prepare CDs from CGCS.

CGCS were used as the raw material.

Microwave hydrothermal synthesis instrument, TEM, XRD, FT-IR spectrometer, XPS, fluorophotometer, UV–vis spectrophotometer, pH meter.
4:Experimental Procedures and Operational Workflow:
CGCS were washed, dried, cut into small pieces, mixed with ultrapure water, and subjected to microwave hydrothermal synthesis. The resulting solution was filtered, centrifuged, and dialyzed.
5:Data Analysis Methods:
The optical properties of CGCS-CDs were analyzed using fluorescence and UV–vis spectra. The effects of pH and salt concentration on fluorescence intensity were also studied.
