研究目的
To investigate the role of B-site substitution on the structural and dielectric properties of samarium orthoferrite polycrystals.
研究成果
The study confirms that the spin reorientation temperature in samarium orthoferrites can be tuned by changing the B-site ion, suggesting a coupling between magnetic and electric order parameters.
研究不足
The study is limited to the effects of B-site substitution on structural and dielectric properties, and does not explore other potential substitutions or applications in depth.
1:Experimental Design and Method Selection:
Polycrystalline samples were prepared by the conventional solid state reaction method. Dielectric and impedance properties were studied as a function of temperature and frequency.
2:Sample Selection and Data Sources:
High pure precursors Sm2O3, Fe2O3, Cr2O3, Co3O4 were used to prepare the samples.
3:List of Experimental Equipment and Materials:
Bruker diffractometer using CuKα radiation for XRD, Agilent 4294A precision impedance analyzer for dielectric studies.
4:Experimental Procedures and Operational Workflow:
Initial sintering at 1000 oC and final sintering at 1400 oC for 12 hrs. Dielectric properties were measured from 300 K to 550 K and 100 Hz to 50 MHz.
5:Data Analysis Methods:
XRD for structural analysis, impedance analyzer for dielectric and impedance studies.
