研究目的
Developing a dual depth windshield type HUD prototype to help in focusing a driver’s attention on traffic surroundings by displaying an AR image and a common one with different throw distances and FOVs.
研究成果
A practical dual depth head up display with off axis configuration and free form mirror was designed and assembled. The prototype successfully projects two depth images to 2.5m and 7.5m, respectively, and can be seen clearly in daylight scene. Future improvements include reducing the size of the prototype.
研究不足
The current volume of the prototype is about 30L and it should be subtly designed in future improvement.
1:Experimental Design and Method Selection:
The prototype uses an off-axis reflective optical system including a freeform mirror to realize dual depth display in a common light path. Two 5 inch LCD panels are used as the picture generate unit. A special apodization back light module is designed for high luminance illumination.
2:Sample Selection and Data Sources:
The prototype is tested for its main parameters to meet the design requirement.
3:List of Experimental Equipment and Materials:
Two 5 inch LCD panels, off-axis reflective optical system, freeform mirror, apodization back light module.
4:Experimental Procedures and Operational Workflow:
The optical system is designed and assembled, followed by testing the prototype's parameters.
5:Data Analysis Methods:
The test results are analyzed to ensure the prototype meets the design requirements.
