The Jones matrix for the general reflective birefringent medium was formulated, and an expression of the intensity reflectivity for the general reflective birefringent medium with a single polarizer was derived. Two examples demonstrated the application of these formulations in real cases, including the design of reflective TN panels with any twisted angle operated in NB mode or NW mode.
