The study successfully designed an automatic image processing procedure that can accurately record the key moment when the service ball leaves the hand during the toss and the apex of the ball toss under low light conditions. This can help umpires easily determine if a rule violation has occurred during the serve.

Used a high-speed camera to record the ball toss in table tennis service under low light conditions. The algorithm architecture includes hue-saturation-value color space processing and morphology processing using Hough transform to search for the circular ball.

Used HSV color space processing and Hough transform to find the ball and hand's position, and calculated the actual distance unit represented by the image pixel.
