研究目的
To develop a simulation methodology that allows to evaluate a dish/Stirling system for Natal-RN, Brazil, due to its high annual rates of solar irradiation.
研究成果
The performance of a dish/Stirling system with different sizes can be evaluated by combining the modified Iwamoto mathematical model and the solar prediction model. The new dimensionless numbers proposed lead to a significant error reduction in the prediction of engine speed and output power. The system achieves higher global efficiency than 19% between 12 h and 15 h, reaching 26% at 11 h. Natal-RN has a great potential for solar energy production, and the study suggests extrapolating the work to other Brazilian regions to quantify the potential of solar energy in the entire country.
研究不足
The study is limited to the specific geographical location of Natal-RN, Brazil, and the performance of the dish/Stirling system may vary in other regions. Additionally, the Stirling engine does not have continuous operation only by using solar power, suggesting the need for an alternative energy source during periods of high cloudiness.
1:Experimental Design and Method Selection:
The study involves the development and assessment of four models: theoretical model of solar irradiation, model of parabolic solar dish, thermal model of receiver, and prediction model of Stirling engine performance. Tonatiuh software is used for evaluating parabolic dishes applying the Monte Carlo Ray Tracing method.
2:Sample Selection and Data Sources:
The study analyses a city named Natal-RN, Brazil, using experimental data from the Brazilian program SONDA collected in
3:List of Experimental Equipment and Materials:
20 Includes solar dishes (SBP 9 kWe and a 3.8 m diameter dish), NS03T Stirling engine, and Tonatiuh software for simulation.
4:8 m diameter dish), NS03T Stirling engine, and Tonatiuh software for simulation.
Experimental Procedures and Operational Workflow:
4. Experimental Procedures and Operational Workflow: The methodology involves simulating the dish/Stirling system's performance under various solar irradiation conditions, using MATLAB and Simulink for modeling and analysis.
5:Data Analysis Methods:
The study uses regression techniques to reformulate the prediction model of Stirling engine performance and compares the results with the original Iwamoto’s model.
