研究目的
Designing a simple U-slot microstrip patch antenna for wideband mmW beam scanning with large-angle capability.
研究成果
The designed U-slot microstrip patch antenna provides a broad bandwidth from 23.15GHz to 28.85GHz and has a 100° beam width in YOZ-plane at 28GHz, suitable for large-angle mmW beam scanning. A 1×4 array simulation shows the array can achieve large angle beam scanning up to 50° with gain reduction less than 3 dB.
研究不足
The design rules of U-slot patch antenna are not very clearly defined, and some parameters affecting antenna behaviors require balancing for optimal performance.
1:Experimental Design and Method Selection:
The design involves a U-slot microstrip patch antenna based on a substrate with specific parameters, optimized through simulation.
2:Sample Selection and Data Sources:
The antenna's performance is simulated using FEM (Finite Element Method).
3:List of Experimental Equipment and Materials:
Substrate with εr=
4:66, 5 mm thick, copper cylinders as vias. Experimental Procedures and Operational Workflow:
The antenna's geometry parameters are determined and optimized through simulation.
5:Data Analysis Methods:
The performance is analyzed based on reflection coefficient, radiation pattern, and beam width.
