1:Experimental Design and Method Selection:
The study utilized a goniophotometer to objectively evaluate the luster of woven fabrics with different weave structures and weft densities. Subjective tests using Thurstone’s law of comparative judgment were conducted to validate the objective measurements.
2:Sample Selection and Data Sources:
Eight groups of woven fabrics with four different weave structures and two various weft densities were used. The fabrics were composed of 100% polyester filament yarns for warp and 100% cotton yarns for weft.
3:List of Experimental Equipment and Materials:
A goniophotometer (Macbeth CE-741GL) was used for luster measurement. Fabric samples were prepared with dimensions of 12 x 12 cm.
4:Experimental Procedures and Operational Workflow:
Fabric samples were attached to a black cardboard and positioned on the goniophotometer. Light reflectance was measured at aspecular angles of 20, 45, 75, and 110 degrees under three different illuminants (D65, A, CWF).
